flashback

*Post #2 Flashback*
Benjamin drifted into the past that seemed like moments before!
Air horns and cheering filled the air. Three minutes left! With every second the game clock flashed time away that could not be returned! No time outs remaining and thirty yards away from the end zone he stood with his heart pounding out of control. It was moist and freezing cold. It had rained the morning before the game. Maybe that is why his royal blue jersey that was tightly squeezed to his shoulder pads was splotched with mud and his feet weighed him down like cement blocks because of the amount stuck to his cleats. There he was, mud blotched below his eyes, hands on his hip pads, legs slightly bent over in a perfectly formed Running back position five yards behind his Quarter Back, in slow motion the breath flowed like smoke out of his helmet! It seemed like a eternity as the QB screamed his cadence. “DOWN!” ………….aghh these moments seemed like forever! He noticed a Linebacker blitzing the A gap and decided to turn this play into an outside run…….“SET!” his legs were shaking like a stallion ready to bust the gates open in the Kentucky Derby. It seemed so long! “come on!!! ……..HUT! In I moment, a flash, in a crazy burst, he was off! Mud ripping from the ravaged grass of field below him! He cut away from the A gap and burst to the outside where a bat line backers fingers grabbed jersey but slid off because the force of Benjamin’s large and extremely powerful legs. With a few sharp and elusive cuts he broke the corner backs poor arm tackle and saw open field! The only thing between him and the end zone was a free safety that had took a good angle and was on target to end Benjamin’s run about 3 yards short of the end zone! Ben knew exactly what he had to do! DIVE! He knew that this safety was intimidated by his 6’2, 215 pound frame running right at him and because of previous punishment laid to the poor #3. He guessed that this short and cut defender dressed in a dark greet uniform between him and the pylon was going to try to take out his legs. Since he knew this the only choice Benjamin had was to take it to the air! He had to win!!! This Touchdown would put them up 32-14 and would seal the first victory in his teams depressing 0-6 season. Losing was not a choice and Benjamin was going to seal this victory with a dive that he copied from Reggie bush. Over the corner pylon and in that much coveted end zone! Time stops as Benjamin goes to the air…the sound of the screaming crowd goes mute! Time goes slow, he is in the air, ball stretched out in front of him…TOUCHDOWN!!! He had done it Trinity Lions beat the Lumberjacks! His body powerfully hit’s the ground and he rolls sideways in the end zone where he ended up laying on his back. He laid there in complete bliss. His heart was pounding, and with the ball clenched in his fingers, he looked up into the big blue beautiful sky…the deep light blue eternity that seemed endless above him…and In a second was back in the airplane, back to where his story begins…

* Post 1 (Introduction)*

“We are now reaching 50,000 feet and momentarily you may feel free to move about the cabin, once again thank you for choosing American Airlines.” the voice friendly whispered from a loud speaker and rang aloud the mob of tightly packed mixture of people of all ethnicities and background. The voice kind of startled Benjamin as he was trying not to think about how far he was going to be from everything and everyone he knew in his life. Benjamin pretended that he was not scared of the plane abruptly spinning out of control to plummet into the Canadian mountains below him. He tried to reason with himself that flying was safer than driving and that he should not be afraid of such nonsense. He sat in his shockingly comfortable semi reclining chair and in his mind thought of what he was going to do to entertain himself on this 26 hour series of flights that he had just embarked on. Since Benjamin was easily distracted and his mind was always churning with thoughts. He skipped from idea to idea, one being that he was going to listen to music on his brand new Compaq labtop that he was so recently fond of. Or he might just watch tv on the tiny screen implanted on the passenger seat in front of him. He final decision was to just watch in aww outside of his window as clouds swept past the airplane in such a graceful way. There he was, on his way to Seinajoki, Finland. Though he really did not know what exactly to expect of this foreign world called Scandinavia he was still excited and very much ready to step foot on this new land. Most of all he was ready to embark on a journey that, little did he know, would change his life forever! Eyes open wide Benjamin stared into the deep light blue eternity that seemed bottomless below him, eyes open wide with a stomach that was being ripped apart by butterflies he remembered what crazy addiction was pulling him away from what he called home…

Summer in Seinajoki

Hello, I have an strange idea and I would like to know if you would help me with it! I am going to start writing a book… “what is going to be strange about this book?” u might ask. Well I will explain. The book has a central idea that I am not going to stray from but what I go into detail about and what avenue of the story I embark on will be up to you and a group of others. I would like your input as to what you want to hear more of, for example if you would like me to stray more into a character I will take your comments into consideration and add them to the story. If you would like it to be more of a love story than a documentary I can also do that just let me know what you want. This story is based on real events of love, passion, sports, competition, adventure and even some tragedy, it will be up to you as to what part of the experience you would like to hear. This is how it is going to work, depending on the participation of the people who help, I am going to write a scene a day. I will post the book here on this blogspot and I would like you to leave your input as comments below. Please do not comment of my bad grammar or misspelled words because I am sure their will be plenty. Comment on the storyline and characters only. Hopefully I can create something with your help that will be an entertaining and slightly addicting to all those who read and play along. Thank you, Benjamin Cassidy Jones

*(I also understand there are many people who are going to leave ridiculous and stupid comments for shock factor humor please keep that at a minimum so I can get this story off the ground and see if my experiment will be successful.)

Thank you so much
